The execution of residential projects in Panama and large infrastructure remains a high demand for this product for about two years.
The basket of construction is increasing, and the cement in its different varieties, one of the major inputs that have a direct impact on the cost of housing, an increase of 17% in March, according to statistics gathered Panamanian Chamber of Construction (Capac).
Cement for general use, the structural and the repello presented as increase in its price.
Concrete flow increased 20%.
This increase is because there is still a great demand for these products because they are running major residential projects and infrastructure investment.
Last February, the price index of the material reflected an increase of 20.1% compared to the same month of 2008.
The high demand caused manufacturers to make large orders for raw materials in the future, when prices remained high, and are now coming out of these inventories.
